| Inexcusably
tardy :: October 5, 2007 |
|
To my shame, the last update I made
to this site was in December 2005. Now, that's not just tardy,
that's pretty much dead and buried. Or so you'd think! I have
of course been meaning to transform this site into a simple
blog, but just haven't gotten around to it in... oh, a couple
of years. You'd think that should be a tip-off that I couldn't
find enough new material to keep a blog going, right? But
no. That's the tricky part. You'll see. Soon.
In other news,
it's nearly my birthday again. Did you see my
wishlist?

| New
Quiz :: December 10, 2005 |
Another
silly quiz added, yay, rah.
I haven't seriously
updated this site in some time. About a year ago I was working
on a total redesign but after spending a few weeks on it,
I realized it sucked and since then I haven't had the energy
to do anything about it.

Gone :: March 25, 2004 |

Effective immediately, my cell phone
is gone. If you knew that number, you should have my home
phone. I'm not going to post it here! Ask me if you need my
home phone.

| Virus
Article :: January 29, 2004 |
Pertinent
to the times, I've added an 'advice'
article on general precautions you can take against the constant
threat of computer viruses, entitled Computer
Virus Safety & Tips.
If you want the
skinny on the latest virus making its rounds, please see the
MyDoom article on my HerrickTech
website.

| Seasonal
Greetings :: December 29, 2003 |
Happy
Christmas! Yes, I know it's a bit late. I've been slacking
over the holiday break from work, not updating any websites
or things of that nature.
I want to note
that my wife Staci now has her own LiveJournal,
and we've substantially updated her Joyful
Journeys Doula Service website. |

| Job
Announcement :: November 6, 2003 |
| I
got a new job! Okay, it's working for the same place and for
the same boss, but it's a new position. There are three great
things about it: One, it's full time (I've been working half
time here); Two, it comes with its OWN OFFICE (okay, cubicle,
but it's better than the single room I've been sharing with
4 other people) and a window; Three, the position involves providing
support for only one division, and no "extra" positions
-- as I've had. So, my job becomes much less schizophrenic.
Which is good. |

| Birthday
:: October 21, 2003 |
| My
birthday, in case you're wondering now that the timer's done,
was October 15. I didn't get anything from my wishlist, but
I got some things I should have added! One of the nicest things
was a traditional Greek dinner cooked by my devoted wife. What
a treat! |

| Newest
Herrick :: September 19, 2003 |
| I'm
very pleased to announce the newest Herrick -- Rebecca Ann Herrick,
born February 7, 1992. Wait, 1992?! Yes, that's right, Rebecca
was formerly Rebecca Barton, until I officially adopted
her (I'm her stepfather). Congratulations Rebecca! (She actually
wanted to change her middle name at the same time, to Aphrodite,
but I told her that since I'd already put in the paperwork,
she'd have to wait until she turned 18.) |
|
| MUSH

| At
the Women's Ministries Center :: August 8, 2003 |
| My wife Staci helps
run the Women's Ministries Center in Greeley. This is an excerpt
from their weekly e-newsletter: Wednesday
Rebecca, Staci's 11 year old daughter was with us all day. She
is learning to crochet and was walking around the Center chatting
and crocheting. She helped answer the phones when Staci was
occupied elsewhere, ran some copies for me and brought cheer
to our day. I had to smile because I asked her to run some copies
for me and she came in to where I was and said, "Can I
make them fun?" (Meaning, can I copy them in some fun colors.)
Who wants to guess what personality she is?! Anyway, later Goldie
walked in the Center and saw Rebecca crocheting a chain and
said, "Would you like me to show you how to make a lei?"
Awhile later I walked by the craft room and there sat Goldie
and Rebecca, crocheting away and in deep conversation. How it
blessed my heart. That is what we are here for--Relationship! |

| I've
finally added some (barebones) content to the People
page, and have updated the quizzes pages. |
|
| Quizzes
:: June 27, 2003 |
| Just
what everyone wanted to see: My answers
to those silly quizzes. Actually, I've mostly just reorganized
them so they're not all on one page, for easier viewing. (There's
getting to be a lot of the darn things...) |
|
| Herrick

| I've
updated the Herrick

|
| Joshua's

know this may not be what you'd expect to see from me, but here
are pictures
of my son's new diaper. Which Staci made, all by herself.
I donated the t-shirt. |
|
| Herrick
Reunion :: June 2, 2003 |
| So, not having been good at all about updating this space,
I've at least cleared it out. The only notable thing happening
any time soon is my Herrick

|

(Improved!) Job :: January 21, 2003 |
| My job has just been extended from a half-time
position to a full-time one. Looks like I won't be taking classes
full-time any more... which suits me just fine! I'm now the
PC computing support for the Physics
department. |
|
| Writing
:: January 3, 2003 |
| I've updated the Writing pages to reflect
the new look. (It's the "readme"
link on the side.) Alas, no new writings yet. |
|
| New
Job! :: January 2, 2003 |
| No, not for me! My wife, Staci, has been
hired as a receptionist (i.e. "pulse of the center")
at the Women's Ministry Center in Greeley. Woohoo! She even
has her own office, which I don't. |
|
| Happy
New Page! :: December 31, 2002 |
| Yes, at long last, my new site is up. Parts of it are a bit
incomplete, so please be patient. The old site was sadly outdated.
In fact, it was so outdated that my "replacement"
site I was working on had the caption "dan herrick 2002"!
Yeah, as you can see, I decided not to put the year up, so I
won't become obsolete so quickly. |
